Finished my '72 XL250 and had it entered into the local annual ISCA car show last weekend where it took first in class in the Competition Bike catagory, even though it's not a "Comp" bike..number plates must've fooled em..but the plaque on the wall looks nice, so I'll take it. Good point about the bike not having anything about "replica" in its graphics anywhere. The one item that would totaly change the restoration direction of my GS, would be if I could find a Yosh pipe like the one pictured, Buelligan. Even Yoshimura Japan told me good luck finding one.. Thank you for that insight Steve. Does anyone else remember it this way? I see a few revisionist histories on the internet that continue to spread the rumor of the bikes unofficial name as fact, but I don't remember anyone calling them Wes Cooley Replicas back then.
